§ 6-36. Running at large.

  • It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog to allow the same to run at large in the town.

    (1)

    A dog shall be considered running at large when he is not restrained by a fence, building, leash or similar device, or when he is not under the direct control of his owner or other competent person.

    (2)

    Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, on the sandy public beach between the months of May 1 through October 31 a dog shall be restrained by a leash.
